What a real estate window card is
The window card is the single-property sheet agencies clip into their shop window, usually A4 landscape, in an acrylic pocket or hanging from a cable display system. Each card shows one home: a photo or two, the price, the size, the number of bedrooms, and how to reach the agency.
It is one of the few marketing surfaces that works around the clock. The window is read when the office is shut, and a good share of enquiries come from someone who walked past, saw the price and noted the number. That only works if the cards are current, readable from the pavement, and all built to the same design.
What to put on a window card
The price is what people read first from the street, so it should be the largest thing on the card, next to a photo that makes sense at a glance. Then the area, the floor size, the bedrooms and the bathrooms — enough for a passer-by to know whether the property is worth a call.
Add two or three features that set the property apart (terrace, parking, lift, corner plot), the reference so people can ask about it by name, and your logo, phone number and website. A QR code pointing at the full listing turns the window into a channel you can measure: whoever scans it lands straight on your property page.
What size to print a window card
A4 landscape is the standard, because it fits the pockets and cable systems in almost every office and lets you show six to twelve properties in the window at once. A3 is for the one property you want to push, or when the window has to be read from further away.
Download the poster as a 300 DPI PNG and send it straight to a print shop, or run it off on the office printer. If the window faces the sun, ask for matte or laminated stock: gloss makes the card unreadable at certain hours and the colour fades within weeks.
Common mistakes on real estate window cards
The most common one is too much copy. A window card is not the portal listing — nobody stops on the pavement to read a paragraph. Price, photo, area, three facts and a phone number is the whole job.
The second is inconsistency. When every card uses a different font, colour and layout, the window looks untidy and the agency looks less credible: pick one template and one colour and apply them to all of them. The third is leaving sold properties up — switch the card to "Sold" or take it down.
How to make a real estate window poster, step by step
The tool runs entirely in your browser: the photos are never uploaded to a server, and there is nothing to sign up for.
- Add the photos: drag in up to four photos of the property. The first is the main shot; click any other one to promote it.
- Fill in the details: status, price, area, size, bedrooms, bathrooms and up to four key features.
- Add your branding: upload the agency logo, add the phone number and website, and paste the listing link to generate the QR code.
- Pick a design and download: choose one of the four templates, your brand colour and the format (A4 landscape by default), then download or print.
Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You can create and download as many posters as you like, with no signup, no limit and no watermark.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The poster is generated inside your browser; the photos never leave your computer.
What size does the poster download at?
At whatever format you pick, at 300 DPI: A4 and A3, landscape or portrait, plus square and vertical sizes for social media.
Can I add my agency logo?
Yes. Upload it as a PNG or JPG and it appears on the poster alongside your agency name, phone number and website.
What is the QR code for?
If you paste the listing link, the poster includes a QR code. Someone walking past the window scans it and lands straight on the property page, even when the office is closed.
Can I use these posters on social media?
Yes. Alongside A4 and A3, you can download the same poster square for feed posts and vertical for stories.
The card is only as good as the photo
If the property is empty, the room looks dark or the space reads as small, Pedra can furnish it virtually, fix the light and the framing, remove objects and empty rooms in seconds — and then you use that image on the card.
Thousands of agents and agencies use Pedra to prepare their listing photos. Try it free, and once the images are ready, come back here to generate the window poster.
