How to Film a Real Estate Video With Just Your Phone

Record real property videos with just your phone — no editing, no videographer. The Pedra Video app guides your capture room by room and edits the video for you automatically.

If you want to make videos for all your properties using real video footage — not AI-generated footage — but you don't have the time to edit every video and you don't have the budget to outsource the production, then I have good news for you.

We just released a new iPhone app from Pedra called Pedra Video. With it, you only need to do two things:

  1. Record short clips of each room in the property, guided by the app.
  2. Pedra automatically edits the video for you — adding cuts, music, branding, and the property's details.

And that's it. No editing software, no videographer, no gimbal. Just your phone. Let me show you how it works.

Step 1: Create the property

Open the Pedra Video app and tap Start Capture, then New Property, and enter the property details:

  • Name — for example, Romero Street (a fictional listing).
  • Price — for example, almost half a million dollars.
  • Listing type — in this case, For Sale.

Then tap Create Property.

Step 2: Choose orientation and rooms

Next, select the video orientation. In this example we'll use vertical, which is perfect for Instagram Reels and TikTok. (Choose horizontal instead for YouTube, your website, and listing portals.)

We'll keep this video short, so we'll only capture the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. Then tap Start Capture.

Step 3: Record each room

Just follow the instructions the app shows you:

  • Use the 0.5× lens so you capture more of the room in the shot.
  • Follow the arrow on screen. Move slowly and steadily, from left to right.
  • Start recording and capture the room for about five seconds, exactly as the app guides you.

That gives you your first clip — the living room. If you're happy with it, tap Next Room. If not, tap Retake.

Now move to the bedroom: position yourself where you like, start recording, and slowly capture the room for another five seconds. Then move to the kitchen — the room the app asks for next — tap record, and move slowly through the space.

That's all the filming. Tap Finish.

Step 4: Let Pedra edit it for you

The app tells you the video is being edited and that you'll get an email notification when it's ready. So wait a couple of minutes, then open the property to see the result.

The editing is already done. The finished video includes:

  • Room titles for each space.
  • Your agency logo — in this example, RE/MAX.
  • The property price.
  • The agent's photo and all your branding elements, automatically.

From there you can download the video or share it directly to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, or any other platform.

Why real footage (and why this is different)

Most "AI real estate video" tools generate or animate footage. Pedra Video does the opposite: it uses the real footage you capture on-site, so what buyers see is genuinely the property — just edited to look professional and consistent across every listing. The app simply removes the two things that normally stop agents from making videos: the time to edit and the budget to outsource.

The result is that you can create real property videos for all your listings with just two to three minutes of work each, and they'll all look professional and on-brand.

Don't have footage? Make a video from your photos

If you can't get back to the property, or you want to show its potential rather than its current state, you can build a video straight from your listing photos with Pedra's real estate video creator on the web instead of filming:
