How to Get Real Estate Photos From a 360° Virtual Tour

TL;DR: A 360° tour is a full-resolution capture of every room from every angle — your listing photos are already inside it. Why you don't need a second photo shoot

Most agents shoot a property twice. Once with a 360° camera to build the virtual tour, and once with a regular camera — or a hired photographer — to get the flat photos for the listing.

That second session is redundant. A 360° panorama is a high-resolution image of the entire room; a listing photo is just a rectangular crop of it at the right angle and zoom. The photos exist. The only missing piece was a way to take them out of the tour.

That is exactly what extracting photos from a tour does: you navigate the tour like a buyer would, frame the view you want, and save it as a standard photo.

What you need

• About five minutes at a desktop.

Step-by-step: extract photos from a 360° tour

1) Open the property and its tour

In Pedra, open the property and go to the Virtual Tour tab. Select the tour you built and click Show options.

2) Click "Extract photos from tour"

Among the tour options you'll see Extract photos from tour. Click it and the tour opens in capture mode — the same navigation, hotspots and rooms your buyers see.

3) Frame the shot

Drag to look around, and zoom in or out until the view looks like a listing photo. The on-screen frame shows exactly what will be captured.

Treat it like composing a photo: put the camera where a photographer would stand, look towards the most attractive part of the room, and keep verticals as straight as you can.

4) Capture

Click the round camera button at the bottom centre of the screen. The image is saved instantly to the property's Photos tab, and a confirmation appears.

5) Walk the tour and repeat

Move to the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom, the terrace — capture one or two angles per room. Most agents get a usable listing set of 5–10 photos in a couple of minutes.

6) Close and review

Exit the capture view and open the Photos tab. Every shot is there as a normal property photo.

1. Go to the Video section and click Create video.
2. Select the photos you captured from the tour.
3. Background music is added automatically — you can change the genre.
4. Optionally add a voiceover narrating the property, subtitles, your watermark, and property details (price, address, bedrooms).
5. Pick an AI animation effect and click Generate video.

A couple of minutes later you have both a horizontal and a vertical cut — the vertical one ready for Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts, the horizontal one for portals and your website. You can re-crop, change the music, or add a voiceover afterwards.

Tips for better extracted photos

✔ Shoot the tour well and the photos follow. Lights on, blinds open, clutter hidden, camera at ~1.4–1.6 m and level.

✔ Use the highest-resolution 360 images you have. A 8,192×4,096 panorama crops much better than a 4,096×2,048 one.

✔ Don't over-zoom. Zooming in crops pixels; if the shot looks soft, pull back a little and capture a wider view.

✔ Stand back, not in the corner. Framing from the doorway of the room usually gives the most flattering composition.

✔ Capture two angles per key room. Living room and kitchen sell the listing — give yourself options.

✔ Avoid mirrors and doorways to areas you don't want shown, same as when shooting the tour.

Common questions

Are photos extracted from a 360° tour good enough for a portal listing?

Yes, if the tour was shot at a decent resolution. A 360° panorama holds far more pixels than a single flat photo, so a well-framed crop lands at normal listing quality. Very heavy zooming is where quality drops.

Do I still need a real estate photographer?

For premium listings and architectural work, a photographer still adds value. For the everyday listing where you're already shooting a 360° tour, extracting the photos removes the second session entirely.

How many photos should I extract per property?

The same as any listing: 8–15 for an apartment, 15–25 for a house. One or two angles per room, plus exteriors and any standout feature.

Can I edit the extracted photos afterwards?

Yes. They're normal photos in your property, so virtual staging, object removal, prompt editing, watermarking and enhancement all work on them.

Do the photos look distorted like a fisheye shot?

No. The capture takes the flat, rectilinear view you're seeing on screen, not the raw equirectangular panorama — so the result looks like a normal wide-angle photo.

Can I do this on my phone?
